Gateway Amenities
A Tom Fazio designed golf course highlights the extensive roster of amenities available at Gateway. Popular community-wide amenities include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, soccer complex with six fields, the Gateway Fun Park and over 15 miles of trails for walking, jogging and biking. Gateway Golf
Much of Gateway's allure is tied to its renowned golf facilities. Ranked as one of the "Top Ten Best Courses to Play in Southwest Florida," by Florida Golf News, The Club at Gateway is a Tom Fazio-designed course with 18 championship holes. Acclaimed for its rolling emerald greens and thoughtfully designed layout that provides challenging levels of play for golfers of all skills, the course also features a 20-acre practice facility. Course architect Ron Garl revamped the facility in 2013 into a "Golf Improvement Center," open to all players. Every year, the Club hosts the Gateway Senior Invitational, a GolfWeek-sponsored event featuring the top amateurs from some of the best clubs around the country. Enjoying a sandwich and beer at the Griffin Grille & Pub is the perfect way to end an invigorating round of play.
Gateway Fitness and Recreation
Residents can take advantage of the Southwest Florida weather with a variety of recreational activities designed for members of all ages and fitness levels. The Club at Gateway recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation project which expanded the dining facilities and fitness center as well as adding more opportunities for organized play. In addition to golf, the Club now boasts pickle ball, basketball, volleyball and bocce ball courts at its Gateway Fun Park. The lighted Har-Tru tennis facility continues to provide hours of play as well as an active schedule of tournaments. For water enthusiasts, the Olympic-sized swimming pool area features lap lanes as well as a swim-up bar and beach entry. The adjacent soccer complex combines six fields with a baseball diamond to provide convenient options for participation in kid's leagues and other club sports.
Inside the sprawling clubhouse, a newly expanded 24-hour fitness center features an aerobics studio as well as the latest in cardio and strength equipment. An active schedule of dance, yoga, and other conditioning classes ensures members can socialize while receiving guidance from a fitness professional.
Gateway Getting Back to Nature
The Gateway Fun Park houses 15 miles of trails for walking, jogging and biking past the golf course, lakes and nature preserves meandering through the community. Dogs enjoy their own dedicated full-service park where they can run safely and legally without a leash. The park features separate fenced areas for large and small dogs. Families make good use of the tot lot and nearby playground, relaxing in one of the shaded picnic areas, complete with BBQ grill. Outside the community, the Greater Fort Myers area offers eco-adventures for history buffs and nature enthusiasts from the Calusa Indian Mound to paddling the tidal lagoon in Lovers Key State Park. Other popular stops include the Manatee Park and the 1.2 mile boardwalk at Six Mile Cypress Slough.
Gateway Good Eats
Within the Gateway community, residents can dine al freso on the Verandah overlooking the 10th tee or enjoy more formal ambiance at the Griffin Dining Room, the site of themed dinners throughout the year as well as celebrations and other seasonal events. Offering half-priced Happy Hours, the Grille & Pub continues to serve as a go-to for a quick breakfast, sandwich or post-golf libation.
Gateway Other Attractions
For East Coast visitors and snowbirds, the Gateway Community offers a convenient sneak peek at the Boston Red Sox during spring training. JetBlue Park, which was designed as an exact replica of Boston's Fenway Park, is just one mile from Gateway. The Complex holds 11,000 fans and boasts six lighted practice fields available for use by Lee County's youth sports programs in between spring training.

Gateway is located in Fort Myers off Daniels Parkway east of I-75 and offers quick access to Regional Southwest Airport. This location is close to many Southwest Florida attractions including Gulf beaches, Whole Foods, Bell Tower Shops, Florida Gulf Coast University and the Fort Myers River District.
